Night In Gales revisits Iron Maiden classic in a special vinyl release

The German melodic death metal veterans Night In Gales have announced a special release that revisits one of the most important moments of their career. The band presented their rendition of “Iron Maiden,” a classic by the legendary British band, on a 7-inch single that connects their origins to the present.

More than just a simple cover, the recording represents a return to the group's roots. Between 1995 and 1996, the version of “Iron Maiden” was a constant part of Night In Gales' shows. At that time, the band only had material from the demo Sylphlike, and songs from other bands helped complete the setlist of their live performances, becoming part of the group's identity in its early years.

The B-side of the vinyl also pays tribute to that period. The track “A Spark In The Crimson Eclipse” was one of Night In Gales' first original compositions, written shortly after the release of Sylphlike. Like the Iron Maiden cover, the song quickly became a staple in the band's shows.

The two tracks were originally released on the rare 1996 EP Razor, now considered a cult item among collectors and longtime fans. In 2020, “A Spark In The Crimson Eclipse” received a new studio version on the album Dawnlight Garden, which sold out.

With this new release, Night In Gales celebrates a decisive phase of their career and pays homage to the influences that helped shape their sound, offering fans an opportunity to revisit a significant chapter in the history of German melodic death metal.
