Spheres presents "Virtual Prison", the first single from the album Dyson

French progressive metal band Spheres kicks off a new era with the release of "Virtual Prison", the first single from the album Dyson, set to hit platforms on October 16, 2026 via Art Gates Records.

The track serves as the gateway to the band's new work, offering a reflection on the relationship between technology and humanity. Despite the theme involving an artificial reality, the group makes it clear that "Virtual Prison" is not a song about artificial intelligence itself but about the importance of human connections in an increasingly digitally dominated world.

According to the song's conceptual premise, the story follows a person trapped in an artificial reality without even realizing their condition. The real conflict, however, lies in the inability of any technology to reproduce what makes genuine human relationships.

Musically, Spheres blends heaviness, melodies, and characteristic elements of progressive metal, creating a track that alternates between atmospheric moments and technical, intense passages.

The release is accompanied by a lyric video produced by David Lino, while the album was recorded at JL Studio in Montreuil, France, under the production of Jonathan Lino. The mix was handled by Chris Edrich, known for his work with significant names in European metal, and mastering was done by Pierrick Noel. The album cover art and design are by Julien Grelet.

Set for release on October 16, Dyson will be the next chapter in Spheres' journey, aiming to expand the band's sonic identity within the contemporary progressive metal scene.
