The wait is over: this Friday marks the beginning of the Brazilian tour by the Argentinian band MediuM, one of the most explosive and respected names in South American crust/grindcore music scene today. With nine confirmed shows, the group arrives in the country for a series of performances in cities across São Paulo, Paraná, and Rio de Janeiro, in a production by Scena Lab.
Hailing from Buenos Aires, the members of MediuM return to Brazil after their well-received tour in 2023, this time bringing their extreme sound to new audiences and further expanding the connection built with the Brazilian underground scene. The tour also marks the promotion of the EP “Repulse” (2024), the band's latest work, which reinforces their aggressive and visceral identity in tracks like “Rotting Days” and “Time Destroys”.
Formed in 2017, MediuM quickly gained prominence in South America for their combination of sound intensity, heaviness, and technical precision. Blending elements of crust punk, d-beat, grindcore, death, and black metal, the quartet has built a solid reputation within the extreme circuit, often referred to as a “supergroup” of the Argentine underground, bringing together musicians with backgrounds in bands like Avernal and Jesus Martyr.
Known for their chaotic and energetic performances, the band has shared the stage with important names in the global extreme music scene, including Napalm Death, and continues to expand its international presence with a DIY spirit.
According to Sebah, MediuM's guitarist, the return to Brazil holds a special meaning:
“We are looking forward to playing in Brazil again, eager to meet old friends and discover new bands as well. Last time, in 2023, we played mainly in São Paulo and one date in Curitiba, but fortunately, on this tour, we will reach Paraná and Rio de Janeiro for the first time, which makes the anticipation even greater, making this return truly special. We will be presenting our latest EP, ‘Repulse’. See you in the pit!”
